About Us

Little Wonders is a Private International Kindergarten located in the heart of Limassol, Cyprus, proudly serving families as a well-established part of the local community. Licensed by the Cyprus Ministry of Education, it offers high quality Early Years Education.

Since September 2013, Little Wonders has been leading the way in promoting child-centered practices and advocating for the children's right to explore, discover and learn through play. Each child's unique needs are supported in line with the UK's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework, with the intention of bringing out their full potential, so they may become successful learners, confident individuals, and caring contributors to society.

Our Story

In 2012, an idea was looking for a home – a vision for a kindergarten where joy, play, and emotional wellbeing would take center stage. That idea found its heart in a distinctive 1960s villa in the center of Limassol, where the iconic yellow shutters would go on to frame something entirely new for the local community.

Little Wonders opened its doors in September 2013, offering a warm, inclusive space where children could thrive just as they are – safe, seen, and supported.

The inspiration behind Little Wonders began with its founder, Dragana (Didi) Nikolic-Karam, whose studies in Psychology and Master's degree in Counselling Psychology Studies shaped the understanding that nurturing a child’s emotional world is just as essential as supporting their learning.

What began as one person’s vision has since grown into a thriving international kindergarten, supported by a passionate team of 13 who bring curiosity, kindness, and care to each decision and to every day.

More than a decade later, that founding idea still guides everything we do. We remain committed to creating a space where joy and learning coexist, where children from all walks of life are encouraged to explore freely, grow confidently, and be wholly themselves. What remains is the most natural thing of all: for children to thrive, just as they are meant to.

EYFS

UK Early Years Framework

Our curriculum follows the UK’s Early Years Foundation Stage, ensuring each child’s development is supported through play-based, child-centred learning.

Sensory Play & the Mud Kitchen

At Little Wonders, sensory play is an essential part of everyday learning. Through hands-on experiences with sand, water, mud, dough, and natural materials, children are encouraged to explore, experiment, and make sense of the world around them.

Our mud kitchen is a favourite space where curiosity leads the way. Here, children mix, pour, scoop, and create freely –developing fine and gross motor skills, problem-solving abilities, and emotional resilience along the way. Getting messy isn’t just allowed; it’s valued as a meaningful part of learning.

These sensory experiences support confidence, creativity, and self-regulation, while giving children the freedom to follow their ideas, take small risks, and learn through play in a safe, supportive environment.

Curriculum

Our curriculum is aligned with the UK's Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Framework.

Through a wide array of adult-led and child-led activities, children develop and progress in their knowledge and skills while gaining confidence, independence and acquiring a positive attitude towards learning.

Working towards achieving the Early Learning Goals (ELGs), each day the children will have the opportunity to build on existing skills and will be encouraged to explore new concepts and experiences during whole class input, story time, continuous provision, outdoor play and age appropriate focus activities including Maths and Phonics.

The well rounded nature of the curriculum ensures that all seven areas of development are supported. Learning is further enriched by special activities (Greek language, functional athletics, nature play, music, and STEM) delivered by expert instructors on within curated environments, with participation depending on the age group.

Freshly Prepared Meals, Made with Care

Healthy food is an important part of daily life at Little Wonders. Our children enjoy freshly prepared meals and snacks, thoughtfully planned to support their wellbeing, energy, and development throughout the day.

Meals are prepared on-site in our own kitchen by a full-time cook, ensuring food is always fresh, nutritious, and made with care. Our four-week rotating menu offers a balanced variety of flavours and ingredients, helping children develop healthy eating habits from an early age.

Children are offered a morning meal, a fresh fruit snack, and lunch as part of our after-school care option. Mealtimes are treated as calm, shared moments – supporting independence, social connection, and a positive relationship with food.

By preparing meals in-house, we are also mindful of our environmental impact, reducing unnecessary packaging and food waste while creating a more sustainable daily routine for our community.
